BIO

My early influences that inspired me to draw were my fascination with Dave Berg's 'Lighter Side of Mad' illustrations in the vintage MAD magazines at home.

With that, and being awestruck with Lindsay Wagner's 'The Bionic Woman' merged into a fervor of drawing figures and portraits at an early age.

I attended art college to pursue my passion where graduated in Graphic Design from the Malaysian Institute of Art.

My experiences encompass working in the creative studios of the advertising, media and broadcasting industries before finally becoming a full-time artist. As a result, I'm versatile in both the digital and fine art mediums.

Colored pencil is my medium of choice because of its convenience and being a non hazardous art medium on its own. I'm currently a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) and in 2018, I achieved the respectable signature status in 2018.

Since being a full-time artist, my artworks have been featured in a number of notable art publications, participated in both local and international art exhibitions, and my artworks sold to art collectors from around the world.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My artworks are about storytelling; visuals that present ideas with a twist (but not twisted). Some visual may evoke a dream or nostalgia, making light of a situation, but it's always with a surprising element of twist.

They are in presented in a photorealistic style with contemporary look to make the stories believable. I hope to leave the viewer in awe or more intrigued than the first viewing. It's inviting the viewer to participate in a moment to seek the untold stories within it with one's imagination and senses... beyond the first look of appreciating its beauty, as the viewer draws his or her own conclusion and experiences from the art itself.
